How creating polls on VKontakte allows businesses to obtain useful information and live feedback from their audience regarding a product or the company as a whole?

Social media management is an integral part of the development of any business. It is very important to know the audience's opinion about your product. Fortunately, it is no longer necessary to communicate in person or by phone, as there is a more convenient service from VKontakte. By conducting polls, you will be aware of what people think about your goods or services.

Varieties of polls

VK users can create public or anonymous polls within the platform. Public polls allow you to see all participants in the voting and which option they chose.

If the poll is published in an anonymous format, information about the voters will be hidden. As a rule, anonymous polling is used to understand the general opinion of users about an event, product, or stated fact. Such voting also allows the collection of statistics on delicate or complex issues where users would prefer to remain incognito.

How to create a poll on VKontakte

Creating a VK poll is quite simple, requiring just a few actions.

  • Go to your community page and create a new post.
  • Find the “More” option in the toolbar and select "Poll" there.

- Next, select the publication time. The post can be published immediately or set for a suitable date and time. Also, next to this point, you can choose the voting topic, which will make it easier to find later. - Now click the "Publish" button. After publication, the poll will appear in the community's post feed, and users will be able to vote or share it on their pages, as well as in personal messages.

One interesting feature of voting on VK is the possibility of placing it on your website. To do this, simply take the embed code and place it on the site within the

tag. Publishing polls is available in communities managed by the user and also on their page. The principle of creation in both cases is absolutely the same. The only difference is the ability to choose the level of privacy.

It should be noted that polls can also be launched in personal messages and group chats (where there are 3 or more people) with other users.

How to correctly compose a poll

It's important to understand that every poll should be useful, so when composing it, you need to follow certain rules. In the process of creating a post, you should take the following actions:

  • define the goal. Think about why you want to get an answer to this particular question and how its results will help in the future;
  • work on the question. Complex and large questions can deter users. Therefore, try to ask them very briefly while preserving the essence;
  • think through the answers. Prepare possible answers in advance, relying on how the participants of the poll might formulate them themselves.

Summing up the poll

The results of the voting conducted on VK are available not only to the community administrator but also to the other participants.

After choosing one of the proposed options, they will be shown the following statistics:

  • how many people voted;
  • the percentage ratio of responses for each item;
  • in an open poll, the user will see all the people who made their choice.

Additionally, the poll creator can click on one of the answer options, and more detailed statistics will open. It will be possible to see how each participant voted, as well as their friends.

The benefit of polls for business

Using polls on social networks will allow you to build a dialogue with your target audience. Based on their results, you will be able to see the real attitude of users towards different aspects. Usually, such posts attract a lot of people whose answers can help any business in solving problems or tasks.

Reasons why any company needs to create VKontakte polls:

  • receiving feedback from existing or potential customers;
  • the ability to study your audience, understand preferences, buying behavior, and attitude toward your brand or product;
  • polls can be used to test various hypotheses and ideas to determine which ones work best. This will help you make more informed decisions and optimize your business process;
  • with their help, you can segment your target audience;
  • significantly increase the level of user engagement, maintain activity in the community;
  • polls allow you to find out what content is most interesting to the audience, and in the future create publications that meet the requests;
  • creating an additional point of interaction between the business and the audience.

Most people like to share their opinions, comment on events, or express themselves about a product. Therefore, polls and voting are so popular on social networks. You are most likely to get the most honest response from the results of anonymous polls, so feel free to alternate between public and anonymous polls.

Don't be afraid to use polls in both personal and business accounts, as they provide a lot of useful information about the product and the audience's attitude toward it. Ultimately, they help in developing your blog or brand.
