Social media is used by everyone in different ways. Some share bright moments of life with friends, others — with the whole world. Some promote their business on social media, while others manage accounts of large companies. But everyone may decide to take a digital detox, abandon their account or blog for a week or two or for several months, deleting it.
Then suddenly — you can't log into your account because the password is hopelessly forgotten, and there is no access to the phone and email. What to do?
How to restore a deleted account
And actually — is it possible? Of course, it is possible if you deleted the account less than seven months ago (210 days). The first thing you need to do is find your page. Be prepared to not recognize it: instead of your cheerful photo – there’s a picture of a scruffy dog.

Method 1
If 210 days have not passed since the deletion and you have access to the account, restoring it is a piece of cake. Enter your login and password, authorize yourself. Then click "Restore" or "Restore your page" and confirm the action in the pop-up window. Done! Enjoy using it!
Method 2
This method is useful if you do not have access to the page, you do not remember your login or password. Or both. And the email and phone number — too.
Contact support. You will need to provide additional information:
- the name specified in the profile;
- phone number and email address registered to the account;
- date of birth, contact information;
- possibly, you will need to provide information about friends from your list;
- date of profile deletion.
The more information about the profile you provide, the more chances you have to restore it. Personal photos on the page, any information that serves as proof that this is your account, will help return the once-deleted page.
How to recover your account password
Before contacting tech support, you can try to recover the password. Let's take a closer look at this method.
Step 1
Go to the recovery form via direct link and enter your phone number or email.

Step 2
Confirm that you are the owner of the account, and then — confirm your phone number by clicking the "Continue" button.
Step 3
You're getting a call! Enter the last 4 digits of the phone number from which the call was received. Or — request an SMS and enter the code from it.
Step 4
Make sure the page you are offered to restore is indeed yours. Click "Yes, this is my page". After this, an email with the recovery link will be sent to the previously specified email.
Step 5
Follow the link, create and enter a secure password. It's best to use a password that consists of uppercase and lowercase letters, symbols, and numbers.
Step 6
Click the "Confirm" button. That's it, you have regained access to your account!
Log in using a QR code
If you are authorized, for example, on the phone, and then want to log in on a laptop but don't remember the password, try this method. You need to scan the QR code.
Step 1
Go to VK on the computer.
Step 2
Open the QR code scanner in the VK mobile app. You can do this in two ways.
- Click the plus sign to create a story. Then in the upper left corner, select the camera icon. After that, scroll the bottom menu to the left and select the QR scanner.
- In the upper right corner of the profile, click on the three dots. Then select "Share profile". A window with your profile's QR code and QR scanner will open. Choose the desired one.
Step 3
Point the scanner at the QR code on the computer monitor and scan it.

Step 4
Confirm the action.
Done! You have logged into your profile!
