VKontakte has a feature that allows you to hide subscribers. If you activate it, only the number of subscribers will be reflected on the main page, but not their names. Let's figure out whether you need to hide them and how it's done.

The reasons for hiding subscribers vary for everyone. Ordinary users hide their friends to keep personal connections private. Communities may fear that their subscribers might be poached by competitors. Sometimes, administrators care about the peace of their subscribers and hide the full list to protect them from negativity or incoming spam.
How to Hide Subscribers in a Community
The main thing to know is that only community owners and administrators on the VKontakte web version can enable the setting and hide subscribers. However, after setting up, the subscriber block will disappear on all platforms.
You can hide subscribers on VK both in open groups and closed groups. To do this, you need to go through the following steps.
Step 1
Go to the "Management" section — it is marked with a gear and is located on the right panel.

Step 2
Select the "Members" tab.

Step 3
In the "Member List" window that opens, check the box next to "Do not show on the community page."

Step 4
Click the "Save" button.
What Users Will See in a Community with Hidden Subscribers
Users will no longer see the subscriber block. They will only have access to information about the total number of subscribers and the number of friends who are also members of this community. If your friends are not subscribed to the community, the text will display: "Community leaders have hidden their subscribers."
Now only moderators, editors, and community administrators will be able to see the full list of subscribers.
How Hiding Subscribers Affects the Community
Your followers, especially new ones, will no longer receive spam and invitation links from competitors. However, the community will stop appearing in the general list for the user.
How to Hide Subscribers in a Personal Account
Any social network user, not just communities, can hide those listed as friends. There are privacy settings for this. Go to "Settings" and select the "Privacy" section.
Then select "Who is visible on my friends and subscriptions list" and check the profiles of those friends you want to hide from other users. After this, they will not be visible on your page.
You can go even further and make exceptions, allowing some friends to still see the hidden ones. Click on "Who sees my hidden friends" and mark who will have access to this information: only you or additionally a specific circle of friends.
The level of privacy of a personal profile or group is chosen by each individual depending on the tasks they set for themselves. If you believe that subscribers need to be hidden—do it!
